New Web site dedicated to Marshall Center's diverse workforce

Where do you find down-to-Earth stories about the diverse people who keep NASA programs flying out of this world? The new Diversity News Web site — unveiled recently by NASA's Marshall Center — will deliver the latest news and engaging feature stories about the diverse team at the Marshall Center.

Diep and Huu Trinh grew up in the same small town of BacLieu in South Vietnam. They survived the Vietnam War, the fall of Saigon in 1975 and an Indonesian refugee camp. Today, the couple works at NASA’s Marshall Space Flight Center in Huntsville, Ala. Diep is a structural materials engineer; Huu is an aerospace engineer.

Robbie Hood, a direct descendant of a legendary Cherokee chief and an atmospheric scientist and hurricane hunter for the Marshall Center, learned Native American history the old-fashioned way — from stories passed down generation to generation.

Marshall Center engineers Michael Shadoan and Neill Myers have designed a knee brace that uses Space Shuttle propulsion technology to benefit the injured and disabled on Earth. Their invention could help knee injury and stroke patients, and may potentially serve people with spinal cord injuries, birth defects — such as spina bifida — and polio.

Where do you find these — and more — down-to-Earth stories about the diverse people who keep NASA programs flying out of this world?

A new Web site — unveiled today by NASA’s Marshall Center  — will deliver the latest news and engaging feature stories about the diverse team at the Marshall Center.

Diversity News — part of the Marshall Center's electronic newsroom designed and tailored for the news media — spotlights, in news, features, profiles, photos and other materials, the activities and accomplishments of African Americans, Hispanics, Asian Pacific Americans, Native Americans, women, senior citizens, and disabled individuals.

Looking for diversity news? You’ll find it at the NASA Marshall Center’s Media Relations new Web site. Check out Diversity News at:
