Marshall looks to Middle Tennessee to tap resources for space exploration
A Murphreesboro workshop highlighting how to do business with the Marshall Center is being co-sponsored today by NASA and U.S. Rep. Bart Gordon of Tennessee's Sixth Congressional District. The event aims to increase opportunities for technology-related small businesses and industries in Middle Tennessee to work with NASA.
What: A workshop highlighting how to do business with NASA's Marshall Space Flight Center in Huntsville, Ala. is being co-sponsored by NASA and U.S. Rep. Bart Gordon of Tennessee's Sixth District. The goal of the event is to increase opportunities for technology-related small businesses and industries in Middle Tennessee to work with NASA. Representatives with NASA's Small Business Innovation Research and Small Business Technology Transfer Research programs will discuss how small businesses can participate in the space program, increase employment and improve U.S. competitiveness.
Who: Rep. Gordon, NASA officials and representatives from the National Science Foundation, Tennessee Technological University, Middle Tennessee State University, Tennessee Technology Development Corp., the U. S. Air Force, and Oak Ridge National Laboratory.
When: Monday, March 25, 2002, 8:30 a.m. until noon CST
Where: Rutherford County Chamber of Commerce, 501 Memorial Blvd., Murfreesboro, Tenn.
