PUBLIC MEETING SET DEC. 2 AT HUNTSVILLE LIBRARY FOR COMMENTS ON PROPOSED TESTING OF LAUNCH VEHICLE ENGINES

NASA will hold a public meeting in Huntsville, Ala., Dec. 2 to discuss the environmental impact of proposed engine tests for future launch vehicles.

The draft Environmental Impact Statement for the Engine Technology Support of NASA’s Advanced Space Transportation Program was released Nov. 14.

Public comments on that draft environmental statement will be accepted at the meeting at 7 p.m. at the Huntsville-Madison County Public Library, 915 Monroe St.

Sites being considered for the engine testing include the Marshall Space Flight Center; Stennis Space Center in Hancock County, Miss.; and Edwards Air Force Base near Lancaster, Calif.
