GLOBAL HYDROLOGY AND CLIMATE CENTER CELEBRATES SECOND ANNIVERSARY WITH OPEN HOUSE THURSDAY

The Global Hydrology and Climate Center in Huntsville, Ala., is hosting an open house on Thursday, Nov. 14, to celebrate its second anniversary.

The center’s activities support NASA’s Mission to Planet Earth and the study of the Earth’s water cycle as well as the effect of human activity on global change.

The public is invited to tour the center from 1-3 p.m. Thursday to learn about its activities and potential applications of global hydrology research.

In the morning from 9-11 a.m. the Hydrology Center will host 45 foresters from the Ocoee District of Cherokee National Forest to provide them with information about remote sensing applications in forest management. And from 3:00-4:00 p.m. the center will conduct special activities for interested teachers.

The center is jointly operated under a cooperative agreement between the Marshall Space Flight Center in Huntsville, Ala., the University of Alabama in Huntsville, and the Universities Space Research Association.
