NOTE TO EDITORS: X-33 VIDEO

Enclosed is a NASA video on the X-33 Advanced Technology Demonstrator, a half-scale prototype launch vehicle being developed under a partnership between NASA and Lockheed Martin. The video, titled "X-33: The Stepping Stone to the Future," is provided for your information and use.

The video features T.K. Mattingly, former Apollo and Space Shuttle astronaut and Lockheed Martin’s vice president for reusable launch vehicles, and Gene Austin, NASA’s X-33 program manager, discussing the X-33 program. Also, computer animation depicting how a full-scale Reusable Launch Vehicle (RLV) built with technologies developed from the X-33 program may operate in the future has been included at the end of the tape. (X-33 video 8:30 min./RLV animation 3:00 min.).

A press kit containing NASA news releases on the program, as well as a still photo and one-page fact sheet, was sent to your organization last week under separate cover. If you did not receive one, please notify Icle Blankenship at Marshall’s Public Affairs Office, 205/544-0031.
