NOTE TO EDITORS: X-33 INTERVIEW AND LIVESHOT OPPORTUNITIES

NASA soon will conduct public meetings in your area to gather comment for the Environmental Impact Statement on the X-33 Advanced Technology Demonstrator.

This prototype launch vehicle, being developed by NASA and Lockheed Martin, is planned to fly as many as 15 times in 1999, taking off from Edwards Air Force Base, Calif., and landing in Southern California, Utah, and Montana or Washington.

We have sent you a news release on this subject last week, mailed you a press kit, and you will soon receive a video or audio tape on the X-33.

NASA X-33 managers and environmental officials are available for telephone or television (via NASA satellite) interviews on Wednesday, Oct. 16, or Thursday, Oct. 17.

To arrange for an interview, please contact Dom Amatore at 205/544-0031.
