Dr. Martin Weisskopf
Dr. Martin Weisskopf, chief of X-ray Astronomy at Marshall, has received the Hermann Oberth Award for scientific achievement. The annual honor, awarded by the Alabama-Mississippi section of the American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics based in Reston, Va., recognizes outstanding individual scientific achievement in astronautics and space sciences, or for the promotion and advancement of the aeronautical sciences. Weisskopf is the project scientist for the world's most powerful X-ray telescope, NASA's Chandra X-ray Observatory.
