Payload Specialist John Glenn (right) and Mission Specialist Scott Parazynski work with the BioDyn Bioreactor facility aboard Space Shuttle Discovery to explore new medical treatments for cancer and diabetes. The facility is also used to grow innovative repair tissues for damaged heart muscles and new synthetic bones for transplants.
