Description: As
of Sept. 13, 2003, Hurricane Isabel was a category 5 storm (155
mph winds), although the storm subsequently weakened to a powerful
category 4. In this image, sub-storms in Isabel's eye can be seen
organizing themselves into pinwheel shapes. Isabel is projected
to strike the Eastern U.S. coastline late in the coming week.
